“The production code forbade a kiss lasting longer than three seconds, and so Bergman and Grant alternate kissing with dialogue and eyeplay, while never leaving one another’s arms. The sequence begins on a balcony overlooking Rio, encompasses a telephone call and a discussion of the dinner menu, and ends with a parting at the apartment door, taking three minutes in all. I haven’t seen “Notorious” in years and all I remember about it was that it was a great film…which one was that, the nazi one?

She was involved in perhaps the most erotic scene in cinema history, one that amazingly got by the Production Code: the scene in the cabin with Henry Fonda in “The Lady Eve,” 1941.

If anyone can think of a more erotic scene in cinema, I’d love to know what it is.
