so many reasons the yanks should have lost tonite – walking Reynolds twice in one game? A pinch runner getting picked off 1st? CC just not having it at all.

nice call on the fielding though. it saved the game. whatever Gardy does at the plate is a bonus; watching him make left field look small is just great.

Hat tip to the pen (again) for holding it together, a well-deserved off day and then…..baseball is back in the Bronx!

Yes, on both counts. All three Yankee wins were hard fought and that counts for something. They might have been frustrating to watch what with the lack of big innings, timely hitting, good starting pitching, but in the end, they are wins. And this is exactly what we hoped for after the weekend in Tampa.

Man, I love playing the O’s. I love seeing Buck’s face all miserable. And Girardi manages to put a condom on the match-up sheet to prevent himself from suffering from premature ejaculation.
