[3] He may have been the 13th pitcher when the team was carrying only twelve. Now this being said, I should give the Yankees lots of credit for finding so much work for their 13th pitcher.

Good win. Strange start to the year. Hovering just above .500. Shitty pitching. Shitty hitting with risp. And then, after suffering through 20+ years of Joe Morgan on Sunday Night Baseball, he finally retires and there's Terry Francona to vill the void. b double o.

The thing with Scherzer is he was also missing terribly A LOT. When you're that wild, you're not going to get a lot of close calls.

[6] Yeah, that makes sense.
It is weird. If it were up to Girardi, I could understand why they have 13 pitchers. Relief pitchers make a manager feel secure. But it isn't, so I have no guess why there are 13 pitchers on the Yankees. (Also on the Red Sox.)

Agreed with all above that the Yankees need to get another outfielder on the roster for this series with the Orioles. The move to make, I think, is to send Mitchell back down and get Dickerson up here.

Rivera aside, the Yankees have 3 relievers who have thrown 7 innings or less in 21 games. Ramiro Mendoza looks like Walter Johnson compared to these guys. Enough with the 13 pitchers nonsense. Is it that important to keep your mediocre middle relief fresh? I thought the whole thing that made you a middle reliever is that you weren't that good but were willing to the ball?

Mo is the backup OF.

And I think you probably know that Freddy has been the 13th pitcher for a long time. The news is that the organization has acknowledged it.

Joe Girardi said Swisher will miss a few days but not go on the disabled list...

Meaning that the starting OF for the next few games will include Andruw Jones and Raul Ibañez. So, who's the BAOF? Nuñez?

In other news, Freddy Garcia is now the 13th pitcher.

Good news about Nick. And with Freddy going to the pen. I don't hate the guy, just that he's not getting the job done and we have to be results oriented. Hope it's Phelps who gets the ball, let's see what he can do.
