[3] Ivan Nova has developed into a decent starter. The problem is in screwing around with a guy — start now, relieve later, mix and match to your heart’s content. Just plug Phil in as a #5 starter, don’t expect much and let him figure it out. If he doesn’t, trade him to Kansas City for a bag of used balls.

Here’s an interesting fact. The Red Sox have to bring Aaron Cook to the Majors today, or else he gets to opt out of his contract. If Cook opts out, Cashman should swoop.

Why don’t the Stein Bros open the check book and poach Don Cooper from the White Sox? He’s a NYC boy, maybe he could help develop some of the young guys. It’s just startling how the Yankees just cannot seem to develop any starters!

I missed this one thanks be to Mo. I agree on all counts but looking out the window hoping for rain. Man, that’s blasphemy. I hear ya’ on the aging. Sounds like lots of late 30′s folks round these parts. And on that note, sorry, but reposting from game thread. : )
I just got home from seeing Adam Warren start vs. the Red Wings. He was not entirely impressive. 5 innings. 6 hits. 1 run. 2 walks. 2 k’s. Fastball mostly at 88, 89. Saw one at 91. Cervelli popped up to first and grounded into a double play. The Highlight. My 1st ever foul ball! Granted, I had to climb up 3 empty rows before I had to pick it up. Now I can die happy. I was worried I’d never get one.
