They won the first game of the series thanks to excellent work by the bullpen, including Robertson’s first save as “the closer.”

It sure would be nice to have these two games against Tampa in the win column.

In the long list of things to gripe about this year, Mo’s career-threatening injury, Pineda’s career-threatening injury, Montero’s absence, the crappy start for the middle of the order, and the crappy start by almost all the starters, these two blown games to the Rays by the otherwise awesome bullpen somehow are as annoying as anything other than the injuries.

They keep saying, “There’s no safety net for Robertson anymore…”

But how was Mo ever a “safety net” for anyone? I mean, it’s not like Mo would come in to bail Robertson out of a jam or anything.

Why do they keep referring to Mo as a safety net in that way?

I like Robertson. He hasn’t pitched well at all these two games. Its very hard to paint seven baserunners (including three walks) in 1.2 IP as anything but horrendous.
