A straight profile shot is hack, but a straight-on low angle shot where both feet are above the head and all you see are feet, legs and butt floating in mid-air will get a laugh every time because of it’s absurd appearance. British humor often takes a situation or event to an extreme and juxtaposes it with non-emotional or strictly rational reaction to heighten the absurdity.

Yeah, I shouldn’t say I don’t like all satire. South Park and the Simpsons I like plenty. Maybe it’s the political stuff, even when I agree with their viewpoint, that doesn’t appeal to me, I don’t know. Never thought about it too much. I’ve watched some Colbert and think he’s smart and sharp but it doesn’t appeal to me.

Python I like. Hey, what’s the difference between “zany” and “wacky”?

[46] Yeah, as soon as I said it I started questioning it…they certainly do satire (“Every sperm is sacred” satirizes Catholicism, no?) but I think you’re right, their humor is absurdist first and foremost, the fact that it may sometimes be satirical is incidental.

I love satire (and sarcasm) . Colbert & Stewart I don’t like because they’re so one sided. South Park works because they go after everyone — including their audience.
