[54] Well, if HRs are the only thing that counts, then Granderson wins. But look at the overall offensive performance, and moreover consistency. I think Swisher wins hands down, no matter how frustrating he can be. How about this, take each player’s best year with the yankees and compare their numbers—who wins then? Whose performance the last four years is distorted by one clearly anomalous season?

i would pick swisher too – his obp is more likely to age when than granderson’s speed and i think granderson’s one season of being able to hit lhp seems an aberration at this point.
if granderson keeps this power up it makes it a tougher call, but still give the nod to swish.
especially if gardner comes back healthy and takes over cf.

I don’t understand how Pedro Ciriaco could bat .272 in his extensive MiL career, and then hit .318 for the Red Sox.

I mean, he’s not a good hitter (no power, doesn’t walk), but it’s annoying.
