Yeah, and I wonder–what about Ken Norton? Wouldn’t he make for a good book too.

Mark Kreigel’s book on Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini comes out next month too.

Terrific interview. It’s disheartening to me as an editor and boxing fan that, despite a number of glowing reviews, this Patterson biography isn’t finding much of an audience. Like Stratton, I, too, was “blown away” by Patterson’s autobiography, “Victory Over Myself”, which led me to republish a new edition of his much-overlooked instructional book, “Inside Boxing” (retitled as “The International Boxing Hall of Fame’s Basic Boxing Skills”) a few years back. Hopefully interview like this will help increase sales. And I’m also hopeful for the success of the biography of Joe Frazier (another fighter whose light “gets lost in the glare of Ali”) I recently acquired when it’s published in 2014.

interesting interview – thanks alex.

stratton has dug up a lot of information.
i also agree with his sentiment that some of the other boxers from that generation should be looked into a bit more.
