Arod might be “off” for the remainder of this season, and we can only hope that he will fix what is wrong by the start of next season. He’s under contract for five more years, and has to try and earn his $27M per keep. The career HR record is a diminishing possibility.

There is an aweful lot of random fate in these short series. It’s hard to make absolute statements that ‘if this had happened, this would have be the result’.

However, I think there is a bottom line. When we can count on CC being an Ace and delivering the Win, we have the advantage. Otherwise, it’s a toss up.

While you always want to Win Game#1, it seems much more umportant with this year’s crazy 2-3 format. While this team really is cool under pressure, they always have a giant iron ball of expectation hanging over their heads. No matter what Baltimore or the A’s do, they will be hailed as heros and get a parade. But if we lose, there is nothing to salvage, and we will have failed. It seems like we have to play NOT to lose, where everyone else gets to play to Win.

That said, CC allowed us to exhale, and has things on a very positive note (for at least 2 more games).

BIG game tonight for Kuroda. Chen has decent numbers, but he has got to be nervous as hell. It’s almost like the whole Baltimore season rests on his shoulders.

I hope we can get to him early. Baltimore is a very free swinging club. If they far behind, I think they will get themselves out.

Great game. Tense, but I kind had the feeling that we would always take it.

The Japanese TV team had a post game interview with Cano. It was pretty cool. They asked for a word for the fans back here (in Japan) and he said, “Thanks for your support, and don’t worry, we are taking care of Ichiro.” They loved it.

All we need now is some thunder from A-Rod. How did he miss that high fast ball from the side winder?
