Here's some more randomness to the story. I gave it to my grandmother's old friend Runya Margulies who lived in Inwood but had a summer/weekend home in Shrub Oak. This painting hung on the wall in the Shrub Oak house. When Runya died, her son David kept the house and it wasn't until he sold it, years later, that he offered me the painting back.
