[1] I echo your sentiments. the man has an extreme case of the nasty nastiness when he's right. Let's hope and pray for that nasty day when Pineda plays and the hitters pay.

I hate the WBC with a passion, but everyone here knows that. I will be surprised if Pineda pitches any meaningful innings for the Yankees ever. But most everyone here knows that too.

[4] I'm into it. I love the whole concept, wish they could expand it and get in all the best players. There's something about international competition that makes it really cool.

Good stuff from Emma too - thanks for the link.

Pineda injury certainly threw a wrench in the Yanks youth movement cost cutting plan. I have a feeling that we would see Russ Martin back in pinstripes this year if the brass didn't have to throw so much money at Pettite.

I am not sure what the Yanks offered but Boras and Cano should accept the offer if it reasonable. This can be Cano's team in NY in another 2 years or so, and that means endorsements and never having to pay for another meal in NY again.

Cano might also be pitched around all year long. Not sure if he will have the patience to lay off and take his walks, knowing that he is trying to play for a mega-contract next year. He has very little protection in the lineup and Tex the slow starter and Grandy injured could make for an early season slump for Cano and the Yanks. I hope Jeter can shake off his injury and get things going, but with the Yanks lineup as constructed, there will be a big dropoff in runs scored.

Someone want to remind me who pitches after CC until Pineda comes back. One guy is old. One guy has a bulging disk. And the other two? Cano has to be asking the very same question asked here. Were I him, I'd have Scot tell the Boss, "We'll wait until A-Rod, Pineda and Grandy return.

Me. I ain't looking for much. He could come back, pitch well and have no run support.

New York could have two teams with limited headliners hoping to avoid long losing streaks.

I saw something last winter that said something like: "The top of the Yankees rotation is 13 feet tall, 550 pounds, and struck out 450 batters last year."

I'm hoping we get to see some of that in 2013.

To have this guy come in fresh mid-season, he has the potential to dominate down the stretch. It could be the difference-maker. Yeah, pretty excited.
