I hated MJ and Bulls, but as a Knick fan, losing to them may have been awful but I knew when they lost, they lost to the best team that has ever existed in the NBA. Even today.

Has Cousy seen Lin-Sanity? If he hasn't yet, he better recognize, he's breaking gatos down like if he were Laplace, Pythagoras, Descartes, and Newton, finding angles and quadrants that LeBron didn't even know existed.

How's that for hyperbole?

[10] Not the commentary, Dim, the comments (the responses). I need to make that a little more clear. Again, agree with the political on both post and response, but the sports seems to attract racist responders nearly as much, to which I can only blame the site owners and moderators for condoning it.

[10] A casual glance at a particular sports network's website articles will give you a good idea. The Linsanity has brought about a plethora of Asian-based racial jokes in the comments that I care not to repeat. But from what I've seen, it's usually N-word this and that; not just there but at team-oriented sites in football and basketball. I agree though that you'll certainly see more of that on political-based sites or articles on big sites (an appropriately named email webserver is a prime example...)

Clearly the Banterites are jacked (!) about Branyan ... they swing right into a Sesame St casting couch session.

He LOOKS done, around Mendoza last year and an ops at .665, but a minor league contract is risk-free.

Still expect us to get a stronger platoon mate for Andruw, though not actually excited about any being discussed. I'd bet that A Rod rotates to DH a fair bit this year.

I spook very easily but I'm fascinated by the whole "ghost hunting" phenomena that's come around in the last few years and some of the locations they visit. I'm dying (no pun intended) to make a trip to Louisiana to the Oak Alley Plantation - people have said there's old spirits there too (plus the place is freakin' beautiful!)

[8] You're right, funny how deaf most sportswriters are even to fairly recent history.
I did get pretty excited about John Starks, actually. If Lin turns out to be that good, I'd be pretty psyched, too.
(Whereas I dislike Rondo.)

This 1959 Donald Byrd album marks the early stages of his long and varied time as a featured artist for Blue Note Records. Byrd, is an intellectual and exceptional musician. Incredibly versatile, Byrd has landmark recordings covering all the stylistic changes the jazz genre saw from the late 50's through the late 70's.

ooh, i have no time to write!!!

Hank Mobley is my favorite Blue Note artist, hands down. The Turnaround is one of my favorite Hank albums and the cover art is all kindsa awesome! All 6 tracks were composed by the prolific Mobley and the performance by this classic cast is nothing short of phenomenal.

The Turnaround was the 3rd of 4 recording sessions between 1963-1966 that proved to be a very fruitful time for Hank. The other sessions were released on albums titled Straight No Filter and No Room For Squares, the latter of which is also essential and boasts a fantastic album cover.

Oh, and the worst part is the anonymous, but increasingly voluminous presence and exposition of overt (shhh, racism...), ever-present cowards in most sports and political comment sections in cyberspace. The good news is it's easier to identify the organizations and individuals whom all condone it and those who don't.

Good use of the word "ostensibly" btw >;)

I agree wholeheartedly, and maybe it's a generational thing now, but it sickens me how much media has shaped sports to the point that players are far more aware and reactive to what is being said as opposed to what is being done. It's practically demon possession in my opinion.

Boat, you're not the only one, trust me. I get mad at illegible graffiti...

I'm waiting on this Laker game to see if Lin is the real deal, though it would take going up against a Nash, Kidd, Paul or Rose to really convince me. Other than that, I'm definitely rooting for someone who can get me interested again in the Knicks despite its organizational shortcomings... what's really insane is the talking heads are acting like this is the first time anyone has come out of nowhere and lit it up like he has. I suppose John Starks doesn't ring a bell, and Rajon Rondo was always a top-tier Celtic, right? They may not have been cut by anybody as much as Lin, but they were certainly not on anyone's minds when they became "Starks" and "Rondo".
