Also, if you look deep into his numbers, he is swinging at incredible number of balls out of the strike zone (well in excess of his career norm and even the major league average). In other words, the problem is systemic, not simply a matter of getting beat on good pitches or balls not falling in.

Considering it’s a contract year, this issue could really snowball.
