[69] yes, as they imply “chops”! it’s a musical thing… there are certain fills on a drumkit that are soooo cool and they’re called “sweeps” (at least, i call them that!). then, there are “sweep arpeggios” on the guitar and they are all kindsa awesome. so are the baseball kind! : )

[51] First, there is no real difference between “attorney” and “lawyer”. There once was. A nice old distinction was that “attorney” mean a legal representative. So, you would not often say, “I am an attorney” but rather “I am A-Rod’s attorney”. But this distinction is gone now. I think it’s because lawyers liked calling themselves “attorneys”.

Second, I’ve often thought that a player would be better off just having a lawyer who’s good at negotiating rather than a sports agent. For one thing, the lawyer would be much, much cheaper.

[51] The fancy hotshot Guy Oseary is no longer handling Arod’s off field activities (remember that GQ spread?). He is Madonna’s manager.

With Arod’s image sullied, I don’t think he is getting much in the way of endorsements. He’ll have to live on his baseball salary of 30$M a year.
