[9] I recall a NY Times article a few years ago where Soderbergh talked at length about All the President’s Men, and particularly about the color pallette, how Gordon Willis mixed those cold, icy blues with warmer tones, depending on the scene. He’s on the record as a big fan.

Gotta love Pakula’s pranoia trilogy.

It’s a great film. For some reason I always think of Soderbergh’s “Out of Sight,” another great flick. The lack of incidental music in All The President’s Men, as well as (perhaps) the color palette seemed to influence SS quite a bit. I believe there’s some yellow and blue, but what really stuck out was the orange.

I just watched All The President’s Men again recently. It’s amazing that Pakula is able to keep that movie tense and spooky when you know the ending going in. Great supporting cast, too.

[4] But really, you have a problem with “bit?” Seems an odd choice of a word that sets you off. But then again, what’s the point of an irrational hatred if it’s not irrational?
