I’m relishing not just every Jeter at-bat, but every inning I get to hang with these 2014 Yankees.
This is a wistful time of year for me. It’s gorgeous, and the light and shadows are dramatic, but for me, summer ends far too soon. And they could play baseball year round as far as I’m concerned.

Even as the temperature has been dropping into the 40s overnight in my town, I’ve been sleeping with the windows cracked open.
I doze off listening to the chriping crickets and tree frogs who refuse to surrender to autumn’ arrival.

I enjoy these sounds, along with the banter that comes with the games: Kay, O’Neill, Leiter, Cone, whomever chirping away about this and that.

Too soon all of it will be gone. Packed away for the winter.
There are still a million reasons to watch these games.
