Could only listen for a few late innings due to Mother's Day responsibilities...brunch with three mothers and families, including mine who turns 90 in June...and still drives city streets! Remember that sorta catcher who could sorta hit that was traded for Big Pine? And the "Tears of Rage" expressed by many here and elsewhere?

Well, "The Weight" has been lifted from our hearts as Pineda is doing what was potentially demonstrated that Rookie Year in Seattle. That other unnamed player "Shall Be Released".

And has Beltron peeled that "Long Black Veil" of hitting futility? I hope so, he looked like he played with "Chest Fever" so far this year, but is coming through now.

"This Wheels on Fire" for the Yankees, as they are now 8 games over .500 playing only 32.

I missed the game but may watch the condensed version today so I can see this mastery!
I was just looking at his record for the year and was really impressed by his K/BB ratio... then I realized Baseball Reference hadn't incorporated last night's game yet. He's struck out 54 and walked three this season, for a mind-blowing 18:1 ratio.

The Yankees have the best team ERA in the AL. Just gotta keep hitting a little bit, that should be enough.
