[18] Cold hearted? Why should I care about the Cubs? They mean nothing to me and Theo gives me a reason to hate them.

The Mets I rooted for as a kid. I lived on Long Island in the late 60s. Dad used to take us to Shea in the early 70s. It would be cold hearted to root against the METS for a team from some city that I’ve never ventured out of the airport in.

Also, the fans of the teams that missed the play-offs 50-80 years ago are long gone. There’s no carry-over for fandom. It’s not a thing it’s an idea. When people say “we’ve been waiting 80 years for this” I call bullshit on that.

[18] When ya got no other rootin’ interest, you gotta find something to hang your hat on. Theo or Joe aren’t really in my peripheral vision anymore except for if they play Yankees in (foolish overblown) interleague games, but now that they’re in our face …. just sayin’

NY Post has had three “Genius Joe” headlines so far – it’s too much. Almost as bad as the articles about saintly Buck Showalter last year just before his team got swept in the ALCS by the manager they were all sorta laughing at.

I think I’m rootin’ for a KC vs Mets world series, but not with much passion. I feel like AB’s deflated balloon.

How can you be so cold-hearted as to root against a team that hasn’t won a title in over a century? Because you are pissed that some yuppie help led a team past the Yankees?
