The Yanks haven’t got starters that get them past the 5th.

The bullpen is running on fumes.

Maybe they find a gem in Sept call ups?

Severino, has looked mortal.

Maybe they catch lightning in a bottle and Sheffield steps into the rotation?

If they don’t further exhaust the BP arms, they can ride 2 effective starters in the playoffs and hope to outslug everyone but I don’t see CC and Tanaka as playoff ready and Severino almost lost the Wild card game last year in the first. Maybe Sheffield comes up and dominates and that energizes CC, Tanaka and Sevy?
