If I had to guess, with their very suspect and vulnerable starting rotation and their eagerness to spend on some high-profile free agents of late, I would think the Texas Rangers top a short list. I would have thought Houston as well, but apparently and surprisingly he is on their enemies list (and I wouldn't do that to Dusty Baker right after he just won you a World Series, though that's the only regard I have for them in any way).

[8] Although we can’t completely put it past Cashman and the Yanks to consider it, I want to believe their experiences with Chapman and D. Germán, not to mention their current radioactive contract with Josh Donaldson would lead them to not go through with it, no matter how dire the rotation situation gets.

I’m not sure what we’re looking for! I’ve ID-ed the picture, but why would I have mixed feelings about that?

This stuff is too fraught for me. I attend to the off-season with just one ear, and nowadays I’m really only interested in the Playing Baseball part of baseball.
Well, okay, also some anticipation! But I’ll wait until I hear the “Pitchers and Catchers Report in a Week!” siren.
