The Red Sox ^[1] were blanked in Oakland ^[2] last night and now trail the Yankees by seven games in the AL East. Meanwhile in the Big Apple, as the Yankees prepare for a difficult week ^[3], the back page of the tabloids read, “Crash Test Dummy.” Ah, yes, the continuing saga ^[4] of Carl Pavano ^[5]. Oh, and there is still more ^[6] on the struggling Alex Rodriguez ^[7], if you still have the stomach for that sort of thing. Cliff will have a preview of the Tigers series later in the day. It should be an exciting week.
