Melk the Halls

The big rumor [1] swirling around the Yanks [2] this weekend involves sending Melky Cabrera away and getting a good left-handed reliever in return. I don’t figure that Melky is long for New York. I really enjoyed watching him last year; his enthusiasm is infectious. I hope he becomes a good big league ball player. That said, I’m not sold on him becoming a great player, and if the Yankees can improve their team by trading him, I’d be all for it, in spite of the fact that I like the kid. What do y’all think about this proposed deal? Mike Gonzalez worth moving the Melk Man for?

Meanwhile, when was the last time that Alex Rodriguez [3] said something provocative and was completely ignored?
