Brian Cashman met with Derek Jeter’s agent yesterday ^[1]. A source told me that a deal will be worked out soon. A second source then informed me that the first source doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about, and a third source informed me that the first two sources were figments of my imagination. Right.

The Winter Meetings are next week. My hunch is that by the time they are finished, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter and Cliff Lee will sign with the Yanks. That’s a hunch, not coming from a source.
