Even Girardi beat Ron Washington? Crikey! What is this world coming to?

Hard to believe that the Yanks went into 2008 ready to depend on all of Joba, Hughes, and IPK.

Now two years later, there could be only rotation spot available to one of the three, especially if they sign Bedard, Sheets, or Harden. I'll be sad but I won't be shocked if Joba starts the year in the pen. IPK is destined to be the #6.

I'm all for rotation depth. But I'd rather watch the kids try to bloom than watch Mitre or Gaudin try not to suck.

Rock and Roll Animal is such a fantastic album.

The intro to Sweet Jane still blows my mind.

Another sport but ...

Last night's ref disaster in France vs Ireland - with winner going to World Cup and loser going home - was an absolute nightmare for the sport. The handball is so obvious on replays it is painful, and it was so decisive in such a massive game.

It is on Youtube if anyone wants to check. (Hard to see on first clip, the close ups are better and there are other clips online with an even better angle. Henry - a sensationally good player - admitted it, said 'Talk to the ref.')

[8] Yeah that is really hard to believe, unless it's just a little off-base and he's a piece in a potential trade the Yankees want.

[10] He does bump up to $9mn in 2011, so if the idea is to trade him, sign Holliday and bring back Damon short-term, it could make sense.
