More Good News

I received an e-mail from Todd Drew’s wife yesterday afternoon. She said that Todd made it through surgery just fine. Talk about a Christmas present. For those who might have missed it, Todd, part of the Banter writing team, has a rare kind of stomach cancer. He’s going to be laid up in the hospital over the holidays but he appears to be doing well. I’m a head on over there later today and drop off a care package of books and articles (and today’s papers!) for when he’s ready to read again.

I know I can speak for Cliff, but I’ll be bold and speak for the entire Bronx Banter crew, in sending love and the best holiday cheer to Todd and his wife and their entire family. This is great news. I will keep you posted. Any thoughts you have, leave ‘em in the comments section below and I’ll make sure to print them out and give them to Todd.

Glad to hear you're doing well Todd. What you are dealing with pales in comparison to arguing about Tex vs. Manny, but hopefully we've provided some needed distraction. A happy holidays to you and your family and may all your news be as good as this.

So Todd, I'm wondering if you heard of the Teixeira signing before or after you went in for surgery. Well, before or after, the nurses had to be wondering what that big smile on your face was all about.

Good luck with your recovery and Merry Christmas.

Todd, the Bronx Banter site & community have really become a large part of my day to day personal life & the time reading your craft is especially looked forward to each day. May God bless you & happy holidays; I'm eagerly looking forward to charting the path to WS triumph #27 as seen from the 2 Train.

I think I can hear the crowd at the new stadium: Todd Drew (clap, clap), Todd Drew (clap, clap), Todd Drew (clap, clap).

We're all pulling for you, Todd. Get well, brother.

Thank you for all of the kind words - Todd will be very touched when he is able to read all of the posts and emails. Todd will be in ICU for a few more days and has a long road ahead of him but he is going to be ready for the opening of the new Yankee Stadium and will be back to writing as soon as possible. -Marsha
