Bow Down to a Player that’s Greater than You

Don’t have to like him, but the man is a great player.  The Nuggets brought out the best in Lakers who polished Denver off in Game 6 last night.

At the time that Kobe's draft rights were traded from Charlotte to the Lakers in 1996, there were published reports that the he could have been traded to the Knicks if they had been willing to give up Oakley. If that's true, it would have been yet another short-sighted decision by an often abysmally run franchise.

Since the Knicks last won a championship in 1973, the Lakers have won eight. That's just wrong. The Knicks have repeatedly looked for shortcuts in order to win now, but a win now philosophy almost always means never winning.

I heard a stat that the Lakers have made the Finals 30 times! That is astonishing, considering the league has (only) been around 60+ years.
