Ok, apart from the fact that I adore this song. at the risk of being culturally insensitive, I was once at a high-end karaoke jernt with some Japanese businessmen (with their 300 dollar bottle of scotch that they bought and kept there for future visits), when one of the guys got up to sing. All of a sudden I heard "Jambaraya and clawfish pie on the bayou....

The juxtaposition of the businessman in his suit singing cajun made it impossible to contain myself. He was bopping and everyone was cheering and I just sat there with my mouth agape. A rousing rendition of the song, if I ever heard one. Hank Williams slighltly better.

The same guy doing Bobby Darin's version of Mack the Knife practically gave him a standing o. Have I mentioned that I detest karaoke bars?

I've never been to a karaoke bar. Sounds scary.
