Heeerza thing: It's even better if you zest the lemons, let the zest steep in the boiling water a minute or two, then strain it out before adding the sugar to make the syrup.

If what you want is lemon syrup instead of lemonade, proceed as above, then add the strained lemon juice to the syrup and let it all simmer down together.

What do you do with lemon syrup? Put it in iced tea, of course. I keep some in the fridge in one of those little squeeze bottles they sell for ketchup and BBQ sauce.

Damn, this feels more like a beginning-of-summer thread than an end-of one.
