"A New York Treasure" --Village Voice

Cool and Calm

Coming close to the dead of winter. Not much doing for the Yanks as they wait to finalize the Pineda-Montero trade. Here’s a throwaway piece by Alvaro Morales at ESPN featuring Alex Rodriguez. Over at River Ave Blues, Ben Kabak makes a brief (and flimsy) case for Johnny Damon. And at It’s About the Money, Stupid, Chip Buck has an informative Q&A with Jim Callis of Baseball America.

Otherwise, it’s cool and quiet round here. Snow coming tonight.

Thank the lord we are getting some snow around here. The snow brings something new and exciting to a generally depressing time of year. Just a little snow, not too much.

Oh, and dare I say; there's a football game of interest for these parts on Sunday.

Yeah, I'm hoping for two good games!

Good Lord, people in my neighborhood are nuts! They're stocking up on milk & bread like we're expecting the second coming of "The Day After Tomorrow"!

Yeah, there is nothing like a little snow to set off the doomsday trigger in people's minds. I don't get it.

Supposed to get 4-6 inches here overnight. Do have to get some groceries for real though. Alcohol situation is well stocked.
