Guess I'll watch the Red Sox tonight.

The Rangers and Bruins are playing... but the thing is... that's hockey. So, yeah.

Around here, all the sports pundits think Jacoby Ellsbury will leave Boston because he'll get a long contract at $15M/year and the Sox won't pay.

Ellsbury has just about the same value as Brett Gardner. His career has been good for about three more WAR but he came up a little more than a year earlier than Brett. Jacoby has already earned about $20M; Brett has banked about $3M.

Ellsbury will be 30 in September. His value is speed-based. And he's having a miserable year so far. Is some team really going to pay him $15M/year for say five years???

[4] I hope some team pays him 15m/year for 5 and then regrets at least 3 of them.

Maybe one of the LA teams? I wouldn't put it past either one, though Seattle and Houston would probably be of most desperate need.
