Now, if that’s not the best book title of the year I don’t know what is.

Here’s James Guida writing about the lessons of Dr. Funkenstein over at The New York Review of Books.

I have to get this book for my brother, who came of age during this era. I'm certainly down with reading it myself.

One thing that stood out from the article is what George credited to Smokey Robinson. The man is a genius and proved it again recently with a very astute and surprisingly progressive spoken word performance. You would be surprised how much influence, directly and otherwise, he's had on Hip Hop.
