Ah, remember the days when the Angels were a thorny pain in the ass? Not so much these past few years. The young Yanks beat up on J. Weaver last night and look for more tonight.

Never mind the sunset:

Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Another busy morning tomorrow so I'll probably not stay up for the whole game

Wow! After a terrible swing and miss. Hot damn!

3 rbj   ~  Aug 20, 2016 8:51 pm

Sheriff!

4 Ara Just Fair   ~  Aug 20, 2016 8:56 pm

This is most pleasant.

Me likey first inning runs.

Go Go Gary!!

6 rbj   ~  Aug 20, 2016 8:57 pm

I love multiple runs in the first inning. For the Yankees, that is.

How soon till we get a 'Sherrif & The Judge' poster on sale??

8 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 20, 2016 9:08 pm

I know the Angelitos are a stinky-stew team these days but I'm still excited with how the Young Yank's are bopping them around the field. Irrational Exuberance™ maybe?

THE KID'S A BUM!!!

TRADE HIM!!!

Judge Dredd is the LAW!!!

Tex has good #s vs Nolasco. Should pinch hit!

12 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:24 pm

Unfortunately, I'm not actually watching the game. Apparently, there are a lot of loud Yankee fans in the house : )

And my phone tells me mcCann stole a bass. Wait, base. Trying to keep up with Gary!

13 Boatzilla   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:26 pm

Great start. The New Evil Empire is sending these Angels to hell.

However, Leiter is hurting my buzz. Appears to be totally unprepared as usual (he never heard about the "Castro calling Torreyes HR" story? WTF!) He can not speak in complete sentences. Mumbling, stuttering and arrogant is no way to go through life, son.

Get somebody else, please. Willie? Anyone.

14 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:31 pm

3rd time thru the lineup for Cessa. Just issued his first walk. Good pitch count. I sure hope he finishes the frame. Trout and Poo-Holes up next...

15 rbj   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:32 pm

The Sheriff makes another arrest! Jay walking this time.

16 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:33 pm

I wish Willie was still managing or, at least, coaching somewhere. He wants it and needs to be in uniform!

17 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:34 pm

[13] Hah! Yeah, he's such a smug baaastard.

Trout gets hit, ouch! Trout looks like a bull, and seems as indestructible.

[12] thelarmis, the Yankee fans there ARE loud. Is our pal Hank there this weekend?

18 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:36 pm

A walk and HBP, but struck out Pooholes and got thru 6. Nice, kid!

Don't know about Hank, but Cult will be there mañana!

19 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:41 pm

Can't believe Ricky is still in this game...

20 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:46 pm

Gritner & Ellsbury a combined 0-8

21 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:52 pm

GI Joe: either don't send him out or allow him another batter. Jeesh!

22 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:56 pm

Apparently, Brett just robbed a home run!

(That would've sucked had Clippard ruined Cessa's shutout...)

23 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 20, 2016 10:58 pm

I can't take Clippard seriously. He looks like me when I played as a 14-year old weighing 140lbs and wearing glasses.

24 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:02 pm

You weighed 140 lbs @ 14?

25 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:15 pm

[24] That came out all wrong...I meant 18years old, barely 140lbs at 6ft tall. Like Edwar Ramirez from a few years back (remember him?!)

26 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:17 pm

How could I forget Edward without a D? What a changeup! Nothing else. Gave up lotsa dingers and pitched for the Halos.

27 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:19 pm

I'm barely 140 lbs now and didn't reach that (awful) plateau til I turned 40 or so...

28 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:21 pm

[26] I had great hopes for him, thought he's be our 21st Century Kent Tekulve but alas, just another drink of water reliever..

29 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:22 pm

[27] Wow, I thought I was skinny! And your beard and pony tail got to be at least 10lbs of that so.. :)

30 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:27 pm

Tyler Austin not doing well. Torre/Reyes with the double. I'd love to cash both runners in and win 7-0 again : )

31 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:29 pm

Kent Tekulve!!! I've always loved that guy - his name, his glasses, his position, his hat, his baseball cards : )

I'm tippin' the scales at a buck forty-five nowadays. Not happy about that! I need to drop 10, but won't chop the locks or shave the beard!

32 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:33 pm

Fuck. Shutout gone. And Betances gave it up. I hate closers in non-save situations.

I also dislike Pooholes, who's now top 10 on the homer list...

33 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:33 pm

[31] I know, he had the coolest delivery too with those 1978 serial killer shades and pillbox hat!

Albert can still jack it now and then, even if he can barely run.

101F heat index temps here but I'm heading out for a brief check of the neighborhood festival. Catch you all tomorrow!

34 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:36 pm

Cheers, Jazz!

35 thelarmis   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:39 pm

+11 run diff these two games.

Congrats, Cessa!

36 Boatzilla   ~  Aug 20, 2016 11:52 pm

[29] Guys, I'm 6 foot and 140 lbs. or under, depending on how hard I'm running at the moment. The other day, I was at 136. Generally, I'm about 143.

And Jazz knows how much I love to eat. ;>)

Kent Tekulve is spot on. He looked cool in the Bucks throwback unis, if I remember right.

37 thelarmis   ~  Aug 21, 2016 1:15 am

Damn, Boat! I'm 5'10" on a good day : ) And...the tallest in my family.

I would LOVE to be 136 and eat pasta & drink beer everyday!

38 thelarmis   ~  Aug 21, 2016 1:16 am

Oh, and you definitely remember correctly about Kent Tekulve!

39 thelarmis   ~  Aug 21, 2016 1:17 am

Also, Jazz is super skinny, so I don't know what he's talking about...

40 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 21, 2016 2:16 am

[39] Up to 165 these days, too many German dark beers at night :)

41 thelarmis   ~  Aug 21, 2016 2:24 am

Somehow, I drank 10 beers last night and am about to polish off #8 tonight!

Cheers, my friend \m/

42 RIYank   ~  Aug 21, 2016 3:57 am

Missed this -- I couldn't wake up early enough! Heading back across the pond in an hour or so.

Sigh. I was once roughly Boatzilla's height and weight, but I hit a certain age and that "eat anything" thing didn't work anymore. But, I haven't got any shorter, at least!

43 Boatzilla   ~  Aug 21, 2016 7:44 am

It's been easier to stay super slim since I quit the booze 3 years ago, but I've always had one of those freakish metabolisms.

I think my top weight ever was just under 160.

But Jazz is quite tall. What are you 6-2, bro?

44 Chyll Will   ~  Aug 21, 2016 10:18 am

Wowzers, you guys have me laughing this morning. I was still in elementary school when I hit most of these weights. I'm no giant, mind you, but the word "husky" was stitched into most of the clothes I wore until junior high. When I was a "starving" college student, 188 was my average. Nowadays, that's my target! I'm quite certain my family and friends would have me hospitalized on an IV drip and 24hr watch if I were any of your weights >;)

45 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Aug 22, 2016 7:27 pm

[43] 6-2? That may be what I tell the ladeeeez but it's really 6-1..6- even without shoes!

[44] I think Chyll, you may find my usual jazz & soul bar stops here rather 'intimate' with the seating then..and the 'legroom' (ha!) lacking..
