Yeah, I dunno how Tony and Riff would have felt about following the leadership of a guy named "Mark Sanchez".

Oh ho ho, Sanchez with the deep ball. Jets up 7-3

3 Alex Belth   ~  Jan 24, 2010 4:14 pm

Sanchez with some cocknballs!

4 RIYank   ~  Jan 24, 2010 4:16 pm

Their cylinders are clickin', that's for sure.
Someone gets in their way, someone don't feel so well.

jets up by a grand slam at half. pretty cool!

6 RIYank   ~  Jan 24, 2010 4:40 pm

Thelarmis, what do you eat during football games?

We were munching on traditional tortilla chips and guacamole, and I'm simmering a pot of bolognese for later.

[6] well, i just had a bowl of cereal. 2 bowls, actually! very daring stuff - 90% Cheerios, sprinkled with a little bit of Rice Krispies. skim milk.

check this out: i've never tasted a sugar cereal before. not even like one fruit loop or cocoa crisp or anything like that! true story.

if the massive rains die down a bit, i might go grab a burrito and some chips & salsa later on. we'll see...

terrible. just terrible. gotta stop 'em here...

9 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 4:56 pm

ugh. very not good if greene is injured. by his gait to the locker room, i'm guessing he'll be back out...

10 RIYank   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:00 pm

Yeah, figures. I don't know why I asked, even. It's actually comforting to me, thelarmis.

11 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:01 pm

boo.

12 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:03 pm

[10] : )

c'mon though, i'm not that bad! though next month marks 18 years since i've had any kind of red meat...

13 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:08 pm

oh no. that's not comforting news about greene. hopefully he returns later.

now a penalty. sanchez gets hit hard. lost the lead.

and so it begins...

14 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:20 pm

throw the damn ball!

15 RIYank   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:23 pm

Helluva game.
The tagliatelle are ready, time to eat!

16 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:28 pm

[15] save some for me!

(what in the hell are 'tagliatelle'?! don't think i wanna know...!)

17 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:32 pm

[15] oh, well, shit - i LOVE pasta! : )

18 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:35 pm

crap.

19 Alex Belth   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:38 pm

Jets setting themselves up for the greatest comeback of all time.

This will be formidable. They need a turnover and score like nobody's business.

20 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:44 pm

[19] wow, you're never this optimistic for the Yanks. perhaps it's 'coz your not as vested in it! : )

Waking up to 27-17..so the dream ends after all for Gang Green! Any picks for the Post headline tomorrow?

22 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:58 pm

[21] now 30-17. i'm afraid this one's over. great game, great season. (not that i followed much...)

23 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 5:59 pm

and that's that. game over.

24 RagingTartabull   ~  Jan 24, 2010 6:03 pm

now all that stands between us and Pitchers and Catchers is a few more 50 point losses at home by the Knicks

25 rbj   ~  Jan 24, 2010 6:35 pm

[24] So cold, so cold. . .

There will be the Olympics. Jets gave it a good ride.

26 RIYank   ~  Jan 24, 2010 7:23 pm

Noodles, thelarmis, is all.

What a veg-out day for me -- besides the cooking, I watched the second half of the Roddick - Gonzales match, and it's gonna be two football games. I should have gone for a run or something, I feel schleppy.

27 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 8:09 pm

[26] ah, i love noodles! : )

you couldn't have gone for a run here - flood watches and tornado warnings abound...

28 Alex Belth   ~  Jan 24, 2010 8:42 pm

This second game is living up to its advanced billing. So far, pretty good game.

29 thelarmis   ~  Jan 24, 2010 8:59 pm

man, favre is taking a beating, something fierce. ouchie!

30 RIYank   ~  Jan 24, 2010 9:59 pm

Free football!

31 Alex Belth   ~  Jan 24, 2010 10:06 pm

The freaking Vikes are giving this one away, dammit!

32 Alex Belth   ~  Jan 24, 2010 10:21 pm

More heartbreak for Minnie. Tough, exciting game but the Vikes botched it a million ways.

Nice win for the city of N.O.

Go Peyton!

33 williamnyy23   ~  Jan 24, 2010 11:15 pm

Would have been nice to see the Jets win, but I am equally happy that Manning gets his chance at a second Super Bowl, which I think will pretty much be the last jewel in his crown as best QB ever.

How many days until the Super Bowl? Who cares! 25 days until pitchers and catchers.

34 Start Spreading the News   ~  Jan 24, 2010 11:47 pm

[33] Too bad Manning and his coach gave up on the perfect season. I don't think they appreciate how rarely that opportunity presents itself.

35 williamnyy23   ~  Jan 24, 2010 11:53 pm

[34] I don't think Manning gave up on it. It seemed to me as if he was pretty upset about missing that opportunity. I do agree, however. The Colts were foolish to forfeit the chance at making history...regardless of whether they win the Super Bowl or not.

36 Alex Belth   ~  Jan 25, 2010 8:56 am

Yeah, Manning is a company man so he didn't knock the coaching move to give up on that game, but reading between the lines, you can tell he wasn't pleased about it.
