Down and Out on the Beach

Here is part two and three of Pat Jordan’s spring break piece for Deadspin (and here’s part one):

It was almost 2 a.m. now, and I decided to go back to the hotel to get some sleep so I’d be sharp for the wet t-shirt contest the following afternoon. I walked back toward the hotel and passed Molly Brown’s Ladies. I asked the guy at the door if they had any kids in there, figuring a strip club was too expensive a proposition for college kids. “Yeah, we got a lot,” he said. I smiled and said, “You got any age-appropriate chicks for me? Maybe 65, 68, but without aluminum walkers?” He did not laugh. I decided, what the hell, might as well go in, but he stopped me. “I don’t want you in here,” he said. I flashed him my Gawker/Deadspin letter, but it did no good. I let it drop and walked back toward my hotel, with two thoughts: No one will let me in anywhere, and kids on Spring Break today are different from the kids in Fort Lauderdale in the ’80s. The Lauderdale kids had no money and slept in their vans. These kids stay in hotels, go to strip clubs and nightclubs and bars that are expensive. The Lauderdale kids ate at McDonald’s, and if they were lucky enough to have the cash, they stayed 10 kids to a hotel room, which they destroyed. It’s the times. There’s no free lunch anymore. Only kids with cash and plastic get to play.

Steve, at Was Watching, has an informative post up about the ARod situation. Can someone please tell me if that Motherfucker was STUPID enough to take HGH for his hip? Should we be worried about this? I can't think of a reason for ARod to see a Canadain Doc. OMG!

Seriously..... why was ARod at a Canadian Doc not sanctioned by the Yankees?

[1] Steve's a master at raising ire; think of his numerous anti-Cashman posts from over the years. I wouldn't worry about it.

As for a reason to see a Canadian doc, Magglio Ordonez went to Austria IIRC to see a doc there about his knee a few years ago. It happens.

It ain't Steve that has me worried. Was this Doc a specialist? Is there a reason that ARod, who (with the Yankees) can afford the best medical help on the planet, would see this guy?

There must be a reason. Has ARod said the reason?

PJ is the man! Anyone who uses troglodyte in a sentence is beyond. Insouciantly would be my number 2 pick.

I'm scared to find out what a helicopter chick is. I'll have to do some investigative journalism.

[7] I was thinking the exact same thing. I never made it on a "proper" spring break. But watching anything resembling one on TV nowadays for more than 2 minutes makes my head hurt. And I like beer. The meatheads and the loud, screeching girls. Ugh.

No one reads Was Watching.

OYF, the Canadian doctor is in the same clinic/practice/affiliated with ARod's physical therapist - the same guy who worked with Wang a bit. it's not out of left field
