Who Could Hate this Man?

Okay, stop laughing and dig  Morgan Ensberg’s take on the Alex Rodriguez (looking positively presidential yesterday at the White House) hubbub last week in Oakland.

And here is another priceless picture from Craig Robinson at his killer site, Flip Flop Fly Ball (I first caught this over at River Ave Blues last week). Robinson is reason #4080 why the Internet ain’t so bad after all:

Ensberg on Braden: "Dude lost his mind." Good stuff.

Also, first time I saw that photo of Rodriguez, I thought it was Photoshopped, his head on Obama's body or something, but then I noticed the ring. Classic.

Well with the money he's making, he can easily, easily be Vice-President...

Wow, yeah, the flipflop jpegs are just beautiful. Very talented.
Hey, "Craig Robinson"... That Michelle's brother! Okay, probably a different Craig Robinson -- coach of the Oregon State basketball team?... common name. Anyway, very presidential theme today.

There's an old theory from the 80's that says that any element in a graph that doesn't contribute to the comprehension of the data in the chart is "chart junk".

There's a new school that uses "chart junk" as a way to tell the story of the data. These are great examples of the new school.

Guess I'm a geek. But I love this stuff.

"Yankee star Alex Rodriguez daydreams of spending four years in the Oval Orifice"

18 newbs   ~  Apr 27, 2010 8:54 pm

Caption/Story: "Alex Rodriguez, after being kicked out by by President Obama for breaking the unwritten rule of crossing the presidential podium. Obama was heard to be shouting 'The microphone is in my hand, and that's my podium. If he wants to run across the podium he can go do laps in the Rose Garden.' The President then threw his tie at the wall and punched a jug of Gatorade. A-Rod reportedly did not know what he was talking about, "especially from a guy who's been in office, what like a year and a half?"
