On a more distressing note, here are more details on a sad story that just keeps getting sadder.

rather master the game than dwell in sorrow and shame

this is really so sad, weird, and bizarre - even for the hip hop world - i just really don't get it.

Wow that is some ****ed up stuff. I had no idea.

Just shows how vulnerable and insecure performers can be. I don't think Guru is a victim here though I believe Solar is a bully and a manipulator. The question is why would Guru allow himself to be abused like this? He must have had some deep problems to fall under the influence of a guy like Solar. Sad all around.

You all said it. I have to force myself to read the rest of that later, but I started thinking about some of the things I've heard way on the periphery, particularly about Solar; and this doesn't refute any of that. I shot a video for a rapper from France who is a countryman of Solar, and he didn't have much to say about him that was nice to talk about ("I don't run with him or that crowd" was the extent of it). I merely hinted at the problems that Guru had in his lifetime, but I never suspected it ran this deep. Knowing that community tho, Solar is in it real deep now; unfortunately the story's not over...

[3] that's the big question for me. it doesn't make sense that someone of guru's stature is under the spell of someone of solar's stature. as you say alex there is something deep there.

Yes, and that's the thing. Like Sharon Stone hanging around James Woods in "Casino." It seems as if it doesn't fit with Guru because he was talented. Why would he be so insecure? But I think that's just the way things can work.

Mc Solaar, that's the guy who I thought was Solar for the longest.

And I have to say, this Solar fella better be careful. It sounds like he's got 100 beat downs coming his way if he hangs around the wrong places.

[6] Wowzers, I thought so too; wondered why he had dropped the extra 'a' from his name, come to find out it's not him. What's up with that? That's like if I started hanging around with Doug E. Fresh and letting everyone think... at any rate, no place outta be safe for this cat, for real; the world ain't that big that he can hide forever. It happened to Suge Knight, it'll happen to this guy worse because he's been a nobody throughout.
