I was born too late to see Ruth, DiMaggio or Mantle, but I've watched every season of Rivera's career intently. Every time I watch him pitch, I feel lucky.

When I'm old and gray, I'll annoy anyone who'll listen with stories of the great Rivera.

Thanks, Mo and happy birthday!

Mo is one of those guys you just knew from the beginning he was going to be special and wham! he outdoes your expectations anyway. There is no argument about his impact not only on the franchise, but how baseball is played today. Hell man, it's an honor to face him at his best and even put bat on ball.

And he doesn't need to chase Trevor Hoffman, it's the other way around. Hoffman will make the HoF, but even if he finishes with the record in saves, even he knows he is second to Mariano regardless.
