I'm really excited for this one, the portion of Richard Ben Cramer's book regarding the streak was one of the best parts of a great book. I have the Jonah Keri book on my shelf for right after I finish the spectacular trashiness of Steven Adler's autobiography (SPOILER: Axl Rose can be a douche sometimes).
This looks promising for the fact that instead of just being a general Joe D. bio, which has been done to death, it focuses on a handful of weeks against the backdrop of a crazy season. Hopefully Kennedy uncovered some good nuggets, the excerpt in the News was promising.
Yeah, at first I was like, what else is left to say? I know Robert Creamer wrote a book about baseball in '41, and after Richard Ben, what else was left to say about DiMaggio? But this looks interesting, indeed.
