A.J. Piershmuck? Ugh!

I went to college an hour north of Arlington, TX. A lot of my friends are die-hard Rangers' fans. They like to prod me--especially after last Oct and last week. bastids.

I told them DET has their number. That unless they score 8 runs per game, there's no way they're takin this series. That '10 was their best shot at the title before Cliff Lee flew the coop. I got em panicked now. heh heh

double play gets CJ out of a bases loaded jam in the first.

4 rbj   ~  Oct 8, 2011 8:21 pm

Via Pinto, all the LDS winners were outscored by the losers. Weird.

5 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 8, 2011 8:41 pm

Verlander gets out of trouble, Wilson two more hits so far in the second...

6 Alex Belth   ~  Oct 8, 2011 8:52 pm

And he gets out of it.

Man, Mike Napoli is hot.

7 NYYfan22   ~  Oct 8, 2011 9:21 pm

jeesh. Verlander is rather pedestrian tonight.

8 rbj   ~  Oct 8, 2011 9:28 pm

Wilson's looking good.

9 rbj   ~  Oct 8, 2011 9:43 pm

11 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 10:30 pm

why doesn't texas have anybody ready in the pen?!

jeesh.

12 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 10:32 pm

Well........ so far
the BESTEST team in the universe misses the playoffs altogether. Check.
The Best AL playoff team is eliminated in the first round. Check.
The Best NL playoff team is eliminated in the first round. Check.

Ya just can't predict baseball.

I'm still pissed we lost. We pitched very well (except for CC of course), we fielded well, and we hit well when it didn't matter. We had plenty of chances. We lost. Detroit should consider themselves lucky.

ARod is still hurt. Look at his pre-ASB and post-ASB numbers. Ya gotta hope he might still run into one or 2, but after the first game, he was missing by so much, and in missing phat pitches, I suggested Girardi put Chavez in.

Did Posada 'lose' 3rd base in a game we lost by one run?
I will miss Po, but his baserunning makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

baseball @ 11:45pm

19 NYYfan22   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:34 pm

[17] Think JoPo will sign with another club to DH, or just go quietly into the night?

[18] Thanks!

20 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:34 pm

ooh, wash going with mike gonzalez to face avila.

i'm sure detroit are licking their collective chops.

21 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:37 pm

[19] i was thinkin' about Po earlier. i think he wants to play. i think he wants to catch. i think there are teams that would take a flier on him.

it comes down to his yankee legacy and how he'd feel ending in another uniform. i think bernabe went thru the same thing. players have gone both ways.

who knows. right now, i'm leaning toward ol' piss hands hangin' 'em up and headed home to laura...

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING, JORGIE!!! HIP-HIP!!!

22 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:39 pm

looks like it'll be portabello in to pitch the bottom of the frame for the motor city.

23 NYYfan22   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:39 pm

[21] JoPo, Bernie, and Pettitte can all take no-show jobs at a local hardward store just to play on thier softball team. Jeez. That'd be murder.

24 NYYfan22   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:40 pm

[23] *hardware store. duh.

25 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:46 pm

here we go.

i'm not a fan of mike gonzalez, but he got an easy groundout to 2nd (i AM a fan of kinsler), on the 2nd pitch. inning over.

26 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:51 pm

elvis either needs to grow a mustache or shave the beard. the abe lincoln looks AWFUL on him (and every other human being that has one).

27 thelarmis   ~  Oct 8, 2011 11:54 pm

easy inning for the violoncello.

28 thelarmis   ~  Oct 9, 2011 12:20 am

ogando kickin' some serious arse.

29 thelarmis   ~  Oct 9, 2011 12:59 am

30 thelarmis   ~  Oct 9, 2011 1:01 am

31 thelarmis   ~  Oct 9, 2011 1:04 am

Who cares about non-Yankee baseball. Al Davis is dead. Nuthin' about that on the banter, or did I miss a tread.

I've been a Raider fan most of my life, but much less so (even no so) in the last 10 years because of Davis' meddling.

Perhaps it's a new day for Raiders fans.
