Yeah, I knew about this general point (and I knew Cashman cared about it), but man it's dramatic. Russell saves 18 runs per season over an average catcher by framing well. That's an enormous advantage, comparable to being a great vs mediocre hitter, say. He richly deserved this year's raise, and I'd give him another to keep him on the Yankees.
