Take Off (To The Great White North)

The Yanks washed away last night’s loss with a swift ass-whippin’ of the Twins this afternoon. They scored six runs in the third inning, highlighted by a bases loaded double from Robinson Cano and a two-run triple by Curtis Granderson. Chris Dickerson later jacked a two-run bomb well over the high wall in right field. CC did his thing, allowing just a couple of runs over eight innings. Cody Eppley pitched a scoreless ninth and the Yanks head to Toronto sporting a two-game lead over the Orioles.

Final Score: Yanks 8, Twins 2.

Today was a good day.

Just a good win today. Sabathia was great, the offense produced with runners in scoring position, and Ichiro and Dickerson bookended the lineup with two hits apiece.

As an added bonus, Gardner made an appearance in the outfield.

How do you say, "...is on fire!" in Japanese? I think I already know how to say "Ichiro."

I knew he wasn't done. Can you imagine how shitty it must be to play for the Mariners year after year? Another ownership group that cares more about revenue than winning...

Easy day, nice win, series win, should have been a sweep in Minny. CC in control, 6 runs scored on timely hits (no HRs until C-Dick gets one late). Gotta pull for Toronto tonight not just for a Baltimore loss, also for a docile Jays when the Yankees get there.

[2] Isn't it great that Ichiro is on the Yankees? A professional, a character, a rock star; NY is the place for him.

Honestly, while we may or may not need it, I'd like to see us go at least 5-2 the rest of the way, preferably 6-1. These are awful teams we're facing.

I'll make an exception in case the bottom falls out on Baltimore and we clinch the division exceedingly early.
