Man, Sandy was a bitch.

Good to hear you and your are OK, Alex. Thanks for keeping us informed.

I hope the aftermath is not too difficult.

"The Braves have exercised options on catcher Brian McCann, right-hander Tim Hudson and left-hander Paul Maholm."

Hey... can anyone tell me if/how hard the Spanish Harlem area was hit?

[1] I second that. Hope everyone in the Banter community (and beyond) is OK.

Living in a city, I don't think I've ever really appreciated the advantage of living on a hill like I do right now.

There's a shelter set up near me and last night I saw busloads of people being dropped off. Crazy shit. Hope everyone's all right.

Just hope the loss of power & subways is the worst Banterers experience. About 50 dead & homes burned down? Yikes.

Sandy was ill. Walking around my neighborhood in Brooklyn we came out pretty much unscathed, except for the plethora of trees that were laying on the top of parked cars. Crazy!

[2] i live further west in harlem and we got off very easy compared to most of the city. parts of east harlem by the east river got some flooding, but nothing as bad as other parts of the city.
