Gardner reaches and then doesn't steal after the announcers make a big spiel about how easy it is to run on Toronto's combo today. I don't get Gardy sometimes.

0 for 2 in stolen bases for Brett 17 games into the season is disconcerting.

Quite the pitching sequence to Bautista. Wowzers! One more, Nova.

Screen shot! Atta boy, Stewart!

[1] He's always been like this; I think it's fair to say at this point he always will be

[1] He just doesn't get good reads on pitchers. He's fast, runs the bases well, but not a "great" base stealer.

Well's Bells. Helluva dp.

V-Dub really sticking it to the BJs and their fans.

You can't stop Chris Stewart. I'm not sure you can even slow him down.

This would be a good time for a Pronk Poke...

11 RIYank   ~  Apr 21, 2013 1:38 pm

Or that.

I am OVER-JOYED by that walk!

13 RIYank   ~  Apr 21, 2013 1:45 pm

Turn Eduardo loose on 3-0, right??

14 RIYank   ~  Apr 21, 2013 1:45 pm

Oh, man. Josh Johnson, what were you thinking???

15 RIYank   ~  Apr 21, 2013 1:57 pm

Well done, Ivan!
Tough at bat there. First Overbay drops the foul pop, then two pitches that could have been strike three are called balls... and then he gets the K.
And after those first two innings you didn't really expect him to finish five, did you? I didn't.

Considering Nova had like 50 pitches by the second inning, his performance today is commendable. Is he good or not? I used to think he would be great, but he's been frustrating to say the least.

Good work, Gritner!
My confidence level on that at-bat was extremely low.

[16] He has good stuff. He throws hard. I dunno.

18 RIYank   ~  Apr 21, 2013 2:14 pm

Oy.
Yeah, five innings was enough for Ivan.

Well, this makes it interesting...

It should have been no va for Nova in the 6th. Come on Boone.

Well crap. Just finished some lawn work and this is what greets me.

21 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Apr 21, 2013 2:24 pm

Now Phelps. We disavow any knowledge of his actions.

22 RIYank   ~  Apr 21, 2013 2:33 pm

I think Phelps would have been okay if he'd started the inning. Anyway we'd still have the lead...

I'm not a big Brett Lawrie fan, by the way. Just thought I'd mention that.

23 RIYank   ~  Apr 21, 2013 2:51 pm

Oh well.
Bad game for Phelpsy.
