I'm stuck the fuck in Dulles, connecting flight delayed 3 1/2 hours. And I just bet the wireless is much too slow for me to use my mlb.tv to watch the Yankees, and no way any of the airport bars will have the game. Ugh. I should just leave and go to the Smithsonian for two hours.

No first pitch home run!

3 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 12:09 pm

Yikes. Homer robbed by Ichi.

4 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 12:10 pm

Chris Nelson?

5 Alex Belth   ~  May 4, 2013 12:15 pm

Hughes!

6 Alex Belth   ~  May 4, 2013 12:17 pm

Jeez, I know we've said this before, but Bartolo looks like he swallowed Diego Rivera. What a fuckin' load.

[6] I'm listening to WCBS. Sterling said something about what Colon could do "in his salad days," and Suzyn said she suspected he hadn't had a whole lot of salad days.

Rats. Vernon had it!

9 Alex Belth   ~  May 4, 2013 12:28 pm

7) Good one. But he is like Fatty Arbuckle or Jackie Gleason, he's nimble for a big guy.

Nice try by Wells.

I like this current Hughes fellow.

11 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 1:14 pm

And just like that an 0-2 count on Reddick leads to a walk. Feck.

12 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 1:24 pm

Overbay! Huzzah!

13 mhoward120   ~  May 4, 2013 1:26 pm

Kaye gets busted with that "track, wall, see ya" nonsense when the viewer can plainly see Reddick just look up and not move.

14 Alex Belth   ~  May 4, 2013 1:28 pm

Man, Overbay walloped that.

15 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 1:44 pm

I would be crestfallen if Robbie had a different uniform next year.

16 RIYank   ~  May 4, 2013 1:44 pm

If a crystal ball told me the only runs would be on solo homers, I would have been pretty sure Hughes was on the losing end.

Ah! So there's a non-homer run!

17 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 1:57 pm

Sweet. Send Phil out for the 8th, too.

18 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 2:07 pm

Not even close. Nuney can FLY.

19 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 2:20 pm

Atta boy, Phil. 119 in the new 100.

20 RIYank   ~  May 4, 2013 2:20 pm

Wow.
Best Hughes performance in a long time.

21 rbj   ~  May 4, 2013 2:29 pm

Player of the game = Hughes.

22 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 2:35 pm

That is one short leash for the kid. One batter. Damn.

23 mhoward120   ~  May 4, 2013 2:39 pm

So is Kelly now the official beginning-of-the-9th setup man for Mo?

24 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 2:40 pm

Mo just got friggin' robbed. What the FUCK!

25 rbj   ~  May 4, 2013 2:41 pm

Damn, there goes the shutout.

26 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 4, 2013 2:44 pm

Good. All Rise.

27 Alex Belth   ~  May 4, 2013 2:45 pm

Never mind that missed third strike call. Yanks win.

[1] Stuck in Dulles? Transferred there last year and ate Chipotle for the first time. It was good before a long flight. (Wow..even I am bored by my own Banter commentary these days..)
Look forward to watching this game tonight!

32 RIYank   ~  May 4, 2013 7:32 pm

[31] I made it home. The whole experience sucked. If they had just told me it was going to be over five hours, I would have checked my bag and taken the Metro into town. Bastards.

Great Chipotle story, though :-)

33 thelarmis   ~  May 4, 2013 7:50 pm

[31] I prefer Moe's down here. We have a place called Willy's, too. Both around before Chipotle. I only eat at Moe's. It started in Atlanta, but I know there's a couple on Long Island now...

Chipotle is owned by McDonald's, I believe...

34 RIYank   ~  May 4, 2013 8:03 pm

[33] Hm, Chipotle Grill is publicly traded. Maybe McDonald's owns a lot of the stock?

But Moe's, is that where you go when you say, "I'm going to get a burrito now"?

35 RIYank   ~  May 4, 2013 8:05 pm

[33] Chipotle Grill is publicly traded. I guess McD's might own a lot of the stock.

So, when you say you're going to get a burrito, you're going to Moe's?

36 RIYank   ~  May 4, 2013 8:06 pm

Oh, huh, sorry. That was weird -- my text disappeared and I didn't realize it had posted.

37 thelarmis   ~  May 4, 2013 8:29 pm

[35] Yup. Welcome to Moe's!

Now, if I'm having burritos at home, they're organic bean & cheese burritos, by Cedarlane.

38 RIYank   ~  May 4, 2013 8:42 pm

My favorite part of this Red Sox game is when Ian Kinsler hit a fly to left, Daniel Nava looked up, came in, drifted back, circled, obviously lost the ball... it dropped six rows deep in the seats, maybe 100 feet behind him.

That was a truly great moment.
