Semi-Tough was a very funny book. Especially the stuff about the frig. Never mind. North Dallas Forty was a better movie than the book it was based on. The locker room scenes were excellent.

Took me a minute of googling to figure out if a grade 1 strain is the most or least severe of the quad strain grades. Fortunately, grade 1 is the least severe on a scale of 1 to 3.

...Good thing Arod is down rehabbing with the Tampa team because if he were in the Bronx yesterday afternoon I'm sure it would've been a grade 3 strain for the Captain. Fuggin' Arod.

Cripes, just tuned in -- it's seriously raining. What's the prognosis?

Just put the fucking tarp on already.

I HATE baseball in the rain.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, we're back!

12 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 8:57 pm

Uh, so they took the tarp off and it's raining just as hard as it was before they took the tarp off?

That sounds brilliant!

13 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:05 pm

Gritty might just have saved the game with that play.

14 thelarmis   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:16 pm

[9] good stuff? i see it, but haven't tried it.

15 RIYank   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:17 pm

Grit!

16 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:19 pm

[14] Nope, OLD-SCHOOL micro from Cali.

Heh, just a little bit off in your guess, they played SPAC in upstate New York on the 6th ...

17 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:20 pm

I was wrong though, they are playing by you ... two shows in Alpharetta next week ...

18 RIYank   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:24 pm

Robbie RBI!

19 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:28 pm

How very Cano-like ...

20 RIYank   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:35 pm

Preston Claiborne is clearly a keeper.

21 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:36 pm

It's no joke son, Claiborne is good.

22 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:37 pm

[20] Jobber who?

23 Alex Belth   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:39 pm

Holy Shit. What a fucking throw!

24 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:40 pm

I came in to see both Gritners's and Cano's RBI hits, but what did Gardner do in the field [13}?

25 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:43 pm

That was the longest put out on a fly I can remember.

26 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:51 pm

[24] Ball into the LC gap, took a weird bounce off the wet grass and abruptly changed directions from GGBG's right to left side. Without breaking stride, Gritner reached up and grabbed the bouncing ball with his bare hand and threw it in, holding Mauer to a double.

Otherwise, he would have been on 3rd with 1 out, and with the weather seemingly getting worse by the minute, a run from the Twins seemed like it might win a rain-shortened game ...

27 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:54 pm

[26] Thank you

28 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:57 pm

Uh oh ...

29 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 9:58 pm

Dang, I thought that was a routine grounder to SS, and a possible DP. Now trouble.

30 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:03 pm

1 down ... now, 2 more!

31 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:04 pm

Uh, fuck.

32 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:07 pm

Mauer could not believe that Logan would throw three sliders in a row. That was a big SO.

33 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:09 pm

This might be the last strike of the game ...

34 cult of basebaal   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:11 pm

Uh, I think it's time to put the time back on ...

35 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:12 pm

OK, lucky works. Reminds me of my son's little league games.

Logan gets to run off the field. This game should be called NOW.

36 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:19 pm

How miserable this night must be for the Twins from top to bottom.

37 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:24 pm

I live less than 15 miles from Yankee Stadium, and it has hardly rained here all night. Weird...

38 Mr OK Jazz Tokyo   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:26 pm

Cone is just killing it right now, totally taking Kay to school.

39 kenboyer made me cry   ~  Jul 12, 2013 10:57 pm

Nice win on a sloppy night.
