Old School Strikes Out

Sometimes being from the Old School doesn’t work. Rough day for the former Yank, Tino Martinez.

Your flying with Tino Martinez now and this is the eye of the storm.

Wow. Woody Hayes. Makes me wonder how O'Neil would work out as a coach.

[2] Another question is whether Paulie would have learned anything from Tino's experience and is willing to try a different approach. If not, he's better off staying in the booth. Miami's situation may be frustrating, but coaching is not for everyone, either.

[2] Japanese coaches did that for years. Only now are some parents pulling their kids and making it an issue. I'd still be super careful about signing up Jazz Jr for Little League or his school team here.

BTW, Huge hat tip to the Banter regulars for a superb game thread!

[3] Dude you better worry about judo and kendo. That stuff is mandatory in school here and coaches regularly kill and maim kids (I am not exaggerating). Every school we check out for Sachi, I ask if we can opt out of martial arts. You know I will make a stink.

Sounds as if Paulie O is smart enough to leave all that behind. It was nothing but pain and suffering for him anyhow.

Gee it looks like those liberal baseball whiners thing they deserve to be treated like socialist and given free hits and WS rings. Yea, that is what they need. I once coached Babe Ruth and was criticized for not playing little Johnny all the time. Little Johnny had no talent and never came to practice, but because of the rules of fairness and everyone nice and equal, I had to play everyone. Little Johnny never played HS ball, well because they had cuts. The bad thing is now Little Johnny works for Goldman Sachs and is racking in the cash. Maybe I should have played him more. It seems GS is getting all the free cash it can from Uncle Sam.
