I love Jackie Gleason! There is a guy that could literally read the phone book and get laughs.

It is also wonderful that he can sit there and drink and chanin smoke on tv.

He is just a natural story teller. Loved him in The Hustler too. He was a pool shark in real life and did all of his own shots for the movie.

I read his biography and this is a man who drank at least a bottle of scotch and chain smoked 3 or more packs a day.

Even in the end when he was making those silly Smokey and the Bear movies or starring in the Toy with Richard Pryor, he still had his moments. Even when he was phoning in his performances, he was better than most.

Thanks for posting Alex!

[3] He also recorded dozens of albums, mostly lite BGM type stuff, but still. All-round talent they just don't make anymore. For some reason I always felt Gleason and Sammy Davis Jr were very similar..odd, but I sense it.
