Great photos so often depend on composition. Excellent here (not just The Cars poster, but the three principal cars in the photo, appearing in decreasing size)

This is a picture from Tower Records on Sunset Bl around 1979 or '80. I worked as a "marketing manager" for a record company in LA at this time and spent probably 5 hours a week at that store. Everyone in music, politics, sports, movies, television, the underworld, japaneses tourists, and regular people went there. They sold hit albums by the thousands, and prided themselves on carrying a complete catalog of every genre. Things are obviously different now, the world catalog and history of music is available at a push of a button (but it never sounds as good, and is mostly stolen). Every day I remember and discuss with others; exciting, funny, and not so funny stories from that time.

The Roxy is a block away, and next door to that was the infamous Rainbow and their "parking lot" where all sorts of stuff happened after closing time. You could end up locked up in Rick James' house for two weeks if not careful.

[4] Wow, amazing. Would have loved to visited such a record shop!

[5] Before the collapse of the business, Tower had a Tokyo store too. Never saw it, but I'm sure the selection was similar.
