Hope Is the Thing With Ducats

Kuroda-4

Here’s a Friday baseball open thread fuh ya. While there is word that things aren’t going so smoothly for team Cano in Seattle Jon Heyman reports that the Yanks are close to signing our man Hiroki to a 1-year deal.

Must admit that it's just a little bit nuts to be following private jet flight plans, and listening to updates every 5 minutes about this stuff.

Tragedy/comedy... A funny thing happened on the way to the stadium.

Waiting For Cano...

10 years, $240M

Give Cano credit, he got paid. This hurts, no doubt, but I mean...we spend our lives bitching and moaning about the A-Rod deal. So what? We wanna do it all over again?

This sucks, there is no question. But I feel like how a Cardinals fan must've felt when Pujols left. I'm really sorry to see him go, but no way I'd want to be on the receiving end of that deal. I'm sorry.

Wow, 10 years...$240 million. Texas called, they want their foolish longterm contract template back... ;-)

He'll be long gone from Seattle before that deal is through. But I doubt after all was said and done he could actually go back to the Yanks after they spent the last couple of days burning the bridge with their comments to the media. Did Cash really say "Cano's about the money" as Robbie's dad says? Even if he didn't, they made certain to let everyone know that's what they thought. So thanks for everything, Robbie. Hope it works out for the best for both him and the Yanks (except when we meet again.)
