Mr. Potato Head, Mr. Potato Head

bully

The Yanks let one get away against a lousy team last night. Let’s hope they straighten that up tonight.

In the meantime, some hard news for the kid.

Brett Gardner LF

Chase Headley 3B

Alex Rodriguez DH

Brian McCann C

Carlos Beltran RF

Garrett Jones 1B

Stephen Drew 2B

Chris Young CF

Didi Gregorius SS

Up to Cappy to keep them in it and it’s on the bats to put up some runskis.

Never mind underachieving:

Let’s Go Yank-ees!

Allergies are killing me this season. Can't stay up for the game.

2 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 8:33 pm

The *incredible* Paul Gilbert has a fun song called "Mr. Potato Head"

Sonny Gray's pitching tonight, methinks. We'll most likely lose...

I'll certainly be up, but I don't think I'll watch much, if at all.

Slade's going to miss a month! Gah! That fucking sucks.

4 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 29, 2015 9:17 pm

Got to love War Games. Would you like to play a game?

5 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:19 pm

My, oh my. Slade can't run, run away.

6 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:42 pm

strasburg may be hurt. pulled after 1 inning and 16 pitches.

those yellow jerseys are pretty annoying.

7 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:43 pm

i hate stadiums where the bullpens are on the playing field. also, ones with a dirt path from the pitching mound to home plate. i think arizona has that. feh.

8 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:45 pm

dodo *sucks* at hitting.

28 pitches in 3 innings for sonny gray (bright cloudy).

9 coleman42   ~  May 29, 2015 9:47 pm

Rangers lose, 2-0. Out.

10 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:48 pm

[9] oh, man. my brother and his family are gonna be crushed.

i only follow MLB and root for the Yankees. i couldn't care less about any other team or sport. (for the most part...)

11 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 29, 2015 9:49 pm

I liked the Isles as a kid so I am glad to see the Rangers lose.

12 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:49 pm

ugh. this guy again. who in the goddamn fuck is billy burns and why the fuck does he keep getting extra base hits against us??? i hate this fucking kid!

13 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:51 pm

[11] i did too, but my brother and his kids dig the rangers so i'm sad for them. my brother shares a birthday with you and my oldest nephew has one on sunday, so i'm sorry their big days are pretty much ruined from this...

14 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:51 pm

zobrist. another one i can't stand. you just know he's gonna hit a double here...

15 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:52 pm

pitch the ball, cap.

16 Alex Belth   ~  May 29, 2015 9:52 pm

Garrett Jones, now Headley--again!--man, Mr. Potato Head, these fielders are awful.

17 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:52 pm

i'll be very happy if the baseball rangers win! : )

18 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:54 pm

[16] i have the roku feed, via mlb.tv. i'm now seeing it.

wow. that was really bad. these are professional baseball players getting monopoly money, right? jeesh.

19 Mattpat11   ~  May 29, 2015 9:54 pm

Chris Capuano is just not a major league quality pitcher any more.

20 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:55 pm

there's the double.

so, we sweep the royales but will have been swept by the two worst teams in the west. (yes, i'm saying we'll get swept in this series.)

the fuck?!

21 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:57 pm

oh, look at that. another double!

remember when Mussina gave up eleventy one of them in a row to the Tiggers? at least he was a hall of fame pitcher. i miss Mikey Moose. i will not miss Capuano.

just get him out of there now. put in Rogers, fuck up our run differential, and get rid of them both.

22 Alex Belth   ~  May 29, 2015 9:57 pm

Good Lord. Last night's loss really hurt.

23 Mattpat11   ~  May 29, 2015 9:57 pm

[21] I'm pro getting rid of Capuano and Rogers.

24 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:58 pm

hey, there's esmil! he's looking at Cap, thinking "I can do that better. You give up 4 runs getting no outs. Watch me give up 5!"

25 MSM35   ~  May 29, 2015 9:58 pm

No need to stay up late tonight. Cap. can't pitch anymore and they will do nothing against Grey. The last three in the order are really over matched.

26 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:59 pm

[22] sure did. CC shouldn't have gone back out and Carpenter certainly shouldn't have taken over with inherited runners on base.

27 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 9:59 pm

[25] i always have a plethora of reasons to stay up late!

28 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:03 pm

cashman called headley an average fielder. chase was kicking some ass with the leather. now he's really bad.

i watched chipper jones man the hot corner all the time for many years. i always heard how terrible he was. i gotta tell ya, he was pretty frickin' awesome. he may not have had great range, but he caught darting line drives, charged and barehanded bunts beautifully, had a fucking *canon* (like A-Rod), and pretty good glove on grounders.

he was also pretty decent with the stick...

29 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:06 pm

sucks i'm only around when none of the banterers are... : (

30 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 29, 2015 10:07 pm

I hate the a's. I always considered Chipper to have a good glove.

31 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:07 pm

it's a good thing we're being no hit...

32 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:08 pm

[30] i agree on both accounts!

btw, i'm having your birthday beer right now. Slainthe Mhath!

33 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 29, 2015 10:10 pm

[32]. Better late than never. Sláinte!

34 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:11 pm

i figured he'd be sitting on the curve and crush it.

also figured he'd catch a routine grounder, even if it hit the edge of the grass.

i guess i figured he'd then strikeout...

35 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:12 pm

40 pitches through 4.

36 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:16 pm

according to flash, the jump gritner got was not actually part of the play. jump + catch = separate parts.

37 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:17 pm

baseball rangers win!

read: shit sox lose : )

38 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:19 pm

no. keep warren in the rotation. there are tons of bullpen options. i don't care if Cap is getting $5 mil. can't keep running him out there.

well, i kinda care about the $5 mil. i think it should be split between the commenters on this thread! : )

39 MSM35   ~  May 29, 2015 10:21 pm

Is it time to rename the Mendoza Line the Drew Line?

40 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:23 pm

ok, this is the last half-inning i'm watching. i'm then going to collect my prorated portion of capuano's salary and play bananagrams with my wife, on our deck : )

mccann can!!! 4 games in a row. no hitter gone, shutout gone. too bad there were no base cloggers...

41 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:24 pm

[39] as long as the definition of the line is closer to .150 than .200!

42 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:28 pm

the Drew line: Ofer.

43 MSM35   ~  May 29, 2015 10:31 pm

[41] Mendoza never hit lower than .180. Drew topped that the last 3 seasons. It is amazing that he is still on the team. $5 mil. is the answer I guess.

44 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 29, 2015 10:54 pm

I love watching highlights on mlb network. I don't believe Didi has appeared.

45 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:55 pm

jesus, dodo. you fucking SUCK at baseball!!!

i know, i know, he has great range... (Hi, RI!)

46 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:59 pm

wait, the hometown scorer called that a hit? with the catcher running?! holy fuck. that's a giant bunch of fucking bollocks. dodo should be given TWO errors on that play, just cause he sucks at baseball (range notwithstanding)!

47 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 10:59 pm

oh, here's that burns kid. i'm expecting a 3-run homer with only one guy on base.

48 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 11:01 pm

it's weird, if we somehow comeback to win, i'll be happy but i really don't care. huh.

pretty insipid playing by the pinstripes.

49 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 11:03 pm

cap and esmil combined era is over 11.

bright cloud's era is under 2.

our team is somehow in first place, and losing to a last place team.

feh.

50 thelarmis   ~  May 29, 2015 11:04 pm

i'm watching A-Rod, then walking away again...

groundout. ho-hum.

good night, no banterers...

51 Ara Just Fair   ~  May 29, 2015 11:33 pm

Settle the fuck down, lawrie. Your act is tired.
